Dry needling, cold laser & soft tissue therapy — supporting your recovery
About This Treatment
What are these therapies?
Alongside hands-on chiropractic care, we offer a range of adjunct therapies to support recovery, reduce muscle tension and improve long-term function. These treatments are often used in combination with chiropractic adjusting as part of a broader care plan.
Dry needling
Dry needling uses fine acupuncture needles to target myofascial trigger points — tight, painful knots within muscle tissue. It is effective for releasing muscle tension, improving range of motion and reducing referred pain patterns. It is distinct from traditional acupuncture in that it targets specific muscular dysfunction rather than energy pathways. Dry needling is available at our Warriewood clinic on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Commonly used for: back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches and migraines, jaw pain (TMJ), hip and gluteal pain, calf and hamstring tightness, sports injuries and overuse conditions.
Cold laser therapy
Low-level laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to reduce inflammation, promote tissue healing and relieve pain. It is painless, non-invasive and particularly effective for conditions where tissue is too inflamed or sensitive for hands-on treatment.
Commonly used for: acute soft tissue injuries, chronic inflammation, tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, nerve pain, post-surgical recovery and areas too sensitive for manual therapy.
Soft tissue therapy
Manual soft tissue therapy addresses the muscles, tendons and connective tissue surrounding the joints we treat. Techniques include myofascial release, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation and targeted massage. It complements spinal treatment by addressing the muscular component of many presentations.
Commonly used for: muscle tension and tightness, restricted range of motion, sports and activity-related injuries, postural strain, recovery from injury and as an adjunct to chiropractic adjusting.
Who are these suited to?
These therapies suit patients with sports injuries, overuse conditions, chronic muscle tension, post-injury rehabilitation, and any condition where inflammation or soft tissue dysfunction is a contributing factor. Your chiropractor will recommend the most appropriate combination as part of your care plan.
