A unique dual perspective — chiropractic and surgical spinal care
Karina studied at Macquarie University, graduating with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Master of Chiropractic in 2017. Committed to ongoing education, she has also completed the Inspiral Paediatric Chiropractic course — reflecting her interest in caring for younger patients.
In addition to her role at Coastal Chiropractic, Karina works full-time in the spinal fusion sector in a medical device capacity, where she collaborates with neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons in theatre. Much of this work involves paediatric scoliosis fusions — giving Karina a perspective on spinal conditions that few chiropractors possess.
This experience working across both the conservative and surgical ends of the treatment spectrum has given Karina an unusually thorough understanding of scoliosis — including which patients may benefit from chiropractic management, and how best to support those on a more complex clinical pathway.
Outside her clinical work, Karina enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and the family loves camping and exploring new places together.
"Seeing spinal conditions from both the chiropractic and surgical perspective gives me a deeper understanding of what each patient needs — and how best to support them at every stage."
